Very warm welcome in comfortable and excellently cleaned downstairs apartment. Do read directions well: they are very clear and without you might take more time finding it.

Easy check in and the cabin was beautiful. I felt at home and hardly knew we were in someone's garden.

Conveniently placed for Chester and with good access to the Expressway etc., without needing to drive in and out of Chester itself, and fairly close to the southern Park and Ride. Sandycroft itself is a satellite of Chester and a convenient location but not really a destination in its own right.

The hotel wasn’t really suited to me with my disabilities.
The hotel wasn’t really suited to me with my disabilities. It would be better for younger and fitter people. It was a long walk to the accommodation section of the building having to walk past other amenities to get there. My request for a ground floor room wasn’t received by reception so I had problems walking to the room. Cleanliness was shoddy in places with stains on the carpet in the conservatory, and a cracked wash basin in the room. I’m sure younger fitter travellers would appreciate a stay here more than the older generation.

We booked this property because we had two day trips planned and it was a convenient base. We didn't specifically want to be in Saughall and didn't look around the area. We chose the location as it was close to Chester Zoo. About 10 minutes in the car and it was half an hour from BeWILDerwood.

I didn't get chance to explore the immediate area but it did seem to be a very pleasant and safe part of the city and very close to all the amenities of Chester itself. As a single traveller I felt very safe and secure during my stay.

I love Chester and have been there many times.
I love Chester and have been there many times. This time we just came to go to the zoo which is amazing. You need all day there and they have a fantastic array of animals. We came to see the new additions: the fossa cubs, snow leopard cub and cheetahs. On other trips I have often gone shopping. Chester has a great array of shops and I've always loved the architecture of the city. The Roman ruins are great too. The city centre is really easy to navigate on foot and I recommend walking the city walls. I would use one of the park and rides to get into the city as it's much easier than driving. We stayed close to the zoo and ate in The Cheshire Cat.

Great venue next to the country park - great for dog walks.
Great venue next to the country park - great for dog walks. Drive & carport for parking at the back of the property. Lovely spacious 3 bed house with great kitchen, utility room, and nice facilities. The garden is fully secure - apart from the latch on the gate was bent so you couldn't secure it from the outside which was annoying - it could only be bolted from the inside of the garden.
The shower in the main bathroom leaked over the windowsill (which held the water) and the floor (the shower screen leaked). The metal shelves in the main bedroom's en suite were rusty and horrid looking. The house had been cleaned, but not thoroughly, as there was hair and fluff gatherings on the carpets.
BUT we liked it and would stay there again.

Plenty of parking, a warm and welcoming reception area, an excellent atmosphere, excellent dinner with space enough in the restaurant to be quiet, an excellent room with a comfortable mattress and topper, comfortable pillows. The breakfast was superb with a wide range of choice. The quality of the items in the cooked breakfast were very good. There is evening entertainment in the palm court on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. We unfortunately weren't aware of this so we weren't able to attend. The comfortable seating in the palm court area is a lovely place to sit and relax during the day. An excellent find..!

Sally was lovely.
Sally was lovely. She lives right next door and so always there if anything was needed. She was very friendly and keeps the homestay spotless. The villa is very well located: short distance to a large shopping mall where everything you could want to buy is onsite. Chester is a couple of miles away and the countryside around this area of Flintshire is delightful.

Excellent staff on breakfast duty and fully staffed.
Excellent staff on breakfast duty and fully staffed.
Otherwise bar and grill is not a bar , it is a VERY NOISY sports bar totally unsuitable to my needs and anyone wishing to be able to talk to their dining partner or for family dining. Bar was short staffed and many used and dirty glasses on the bar.
Will not be returning

I liked the hydro pool experience and the message.
I liked the hydro pool experience and the message. I did not like the fact that you can not communicate what you want to the housekeepers because she did not speak a word of English. That was frustrating. The room had a bad smell when we got in and we wanted her to spray the room with air freshener and it took over 30 minutes to communicate that to her. That was very frustrating.
