It is a nice place to stay, despite the current of the globe with the pandemic, services at the hotel were still impressive and staff very helpful.

The annexe was in the perfect location for our needs, and is beautifully decorated, and comfortable with alot of attention to small details. Would highly recommend.

It’s what you get & more. Great Bar man” only been there a week & advised us well on our choices of menu.! Which was really tasty, like my Nans cooking.! Real meat in a well stacked homemade pie.! & fish & big cooked non greasy chips with light batter was fantastic.
We stayed here as it's close to Stansted airport and we had an early flight to catch. We were really just passing through, but ate in nearby Saffron Walden (a lovely town) on our way to Broxted. The countryside around Broxted is very attractive. Would certainly stay again if flying from Stansted.
Vey nice small city. Guest house was very nice and confortable. Owner was very frendly and kind,help us with dirrection to train station and also about info for travell, also offer adaptor for phone charger. Very nice breakfast-everything what is needed! Very nice stay to one night.
Our hosts were very WELCOMING and other accommodation was a lovely self-contained place; ideal for us. We look forwards to coming again and taking advantage of the lovely pool. Next time we hope to explore the lovely local countryside more.

Unfortunately we have to react to the hosts attacking comments on our previous review. Our review was honest and decent, we made sure to fairly review all the plus and minus points. The fact that the response is so hostile, instead of accepting other people's opinions and taking it as a great opportunity to improve the business, is alarming. We did hear people walking around and closing the door constantly. We also smelled fried food the whole time and the scent got into our clothes. According to the comparison, I am a model and a business owner, I travel all around the world every week. Please do not try to patronize me about the quality of accommodations everywhere else, it's extremely impolite and arrogant. It is a very well known fact that the standard in England is much lower. We wrote an honest, fair and objective review based on our experience. As a business owner myself, I suggest the most important skill is not to attack customers and not to take opinions of other people personally but as a great opportunity to improve my business. Unfortunately, based on this very unprofessional and attacking response, I would not recommend this accommodation. We still wish you and your family all the best.
