The breakfast was very good, the only problem was that it was a bit outside the city, so we had to use taxis all the time. If you have a rental car, this is not a problem at all.

The property was in a good location. Very close to a parking lot and only a 3 minute drive to Pythagorion center. The apartment is clean and the kitchen has everything you need.

A very nice tourist hotel with swimming pool and pool bar, very nice staff and well kept pool. NIce rooms just besides the pool. Located on the road to the airport, and a 20-25 minutes walk to Pythagorion port and the Dodecanese speedboat. Very nice room with ground floor veranda and a few steps to the pool and bar. I would prefer this hotel also next time!
Situated in the southern part of Samos, next to the popular historical destination of Pythagorion, this superb 5-star resort offers a breathtaking view of the Aegean Sea.

We had an amazing time at the Doryssa resort. The rooms were impeccably clean, modern, quiet, and maybe most importantly, with an amazingly strong AC!!! Really comfortable beds. 3 amazing restaurants on the property (Asterias was our favorite — perhaps the best Caesar’s salad i’ve ever had) and the breakfast buffet was delicious. Staff was very helpful and I especially would like to call out Benek, the guest relations officer, who went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay on the hotel as well as the island. We will definitely be back here. Highly recommended!!

In the south of Samos and in a windless location, there are always clean sea and beaches, cafes, you can get up early in the morning and go to Pithagorion, which is 5 minutes awayby car, and get delicious breakfasts and fresh fruit juices from the Thessaloniki pastry shop next to the Corner bar, and I recommend you POROS SEA SIDE CLUB to taste the delicious Greek cuisine while swimming in the sea, 10 minutes on foot.

Chora was a quiet area to stay in and also close to the airport. It is only a couple of kilometres from Pythagoreio and took a few minutes by taxi (which are always available quickly).
There are very few restaurants in Chora, but we ate in Pythagoreio. Eat at ‘Pergamonto’ for brunch or dinner - it has a lovely outdoor area. ‘Two Spoons’, near the jetty, had great drinks and desserts.

It is a lovely village with much character. Calm and relaxing feel to the place. Great choice of places to eat and a good range of shops. Prices for food and drinks was reasonable. We visited in September and it was busy but not overly. We hired a car and visited some other sites on Samos. Prices were fair
Ferry from Kuşadası is direct so no taxi or transfer required.

Small and peaceful village for those seeking for peace and relaxation. All the restaurants are near, you don't need the car unless you want to explore other villages and towns. Nice pebble beach with shallow water. Heraion was within walking distance from Ireon and is a must-see, if you are interested in history. From Heraion it wasn't too long way by foot to Pythagorion, about one hour walk (but after exploring Heraion and Pythagorion we came back to Ireon by taxi, which cost 13 euros). In Pythagorion you can find souvenirs and shops and it also has beautiful, authentic alleys. From Pythagorion you can take boat trips to other towns or Turkey. In Ireon there are just a few mini markets, a pharmacy etc. so if you want to buy clothes or souvenirs (other than postcards or something like that) you have to go to Pythagorion or somewhere else. Best restaurants: Akrogiali, Venetia and Cafe and Bar Idyli (the beach bar).

The city is very nice.
The city is very nice. Affordable accommodation and rental car. We stayed 3 days. It is enough. If you have kids rent a car. Island is big. Best beach is for family is fsilli Amos. It is far away but worth it. Go to Yiannis Ozeris tavern in Vathy. Very friendly island. Prices are very reasonable.

Most beaches on Samos are pebble beaches, but Psili Ammos is a sandy beach. It is shallow for quite some distance from shore and is excellent for children. The Psili Ammos Taverna is known for its delicious fried calimari.

I stayed in Samos-Vathy because it was close to where I'd take the ferry to take me back home to Türkiye.
Excellent and affordably food, friendly folks.
I managed to rent a car from Hertz (a VW IQ3) and drove around a little bit. Be careful driving out there -- the roads can get narrow, and the scenery is too beautiful, so go slowly to enjoy it all.

This is a fabulous jewel set above Samos city with a view of the whole city and inlet from the Aegean. Even so, one can walk down the hill and be in the city in 20 minutes or drive down in 5 minutes. The hosts are as "good family", welcoming, and hospitable (George and Dimitra). The room & grounds / outdoor area are all relaxing and come with a fabulous view of the city and sunsets every evening. We will stay here again.

This feels like a boutique slightly upmarket place.
This feels like a boutique slightly upmarket place. Very pretty and picturesque but crowded. People are friendly and helpful, though. The beaches are very small and totally full of umbrellas. Not very relaxing at all. But good links, busses, affordable taxis to main town and archaeological sites. Also a catamaran ferry service to other islands. Ikaria, for example, is doable as a day trip. Enjoy the buzz in Pythagora but find a relaxing beach elsewhere.

Vathy is a small town with so little to do.
Vathy is a small town with so little to do. You can take a coffee in a bar or take a walk in promenade. It is not a lively town at all. No information about buses, or other facilities for tourists. Unfortunately the quality of food in the restaurants is mediocre or bad. I have eaten the worst squid of my life. I have been to many Greek islands and Aegean coast of Turkey to tell a good fried calamari from the bad one.
