Breakfast had a good variety of items. The menu had slightly different items the next day and items were replenished quickly. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also liked that if we wanted, we could bring our breakfast up to the room with us.

A hidden gem. Lots to see, great walks.
A hidden gem. Lots to see, great walks. A sleepy old Japanese town steeped in history with a modern touch. The trees lining the river are sakura (cherry blossom) trees which bloom spectacularly in early spring. Also a visit to Iwakuni Castle is a must via the walking trail or cable car ride. View is spectacular.

Miyajima in the evenings is truly magical.
Miyajima in the evenings is truly magical. Once the tourists leave, the island transforms into a peaceful sanctuary. We could stroll freely along the quiet streets, admire the traditional buildings, and enjoy the serene beauty without a soul in sight. The gentle sounds of nature, the calm waters, and the soft glow of lanterns made it feel like we had the island all to ourselves. Experiencing Miyajima in this tranquil, almost private way was unforgettable.

Don't miss this.
Don't miss this. One of the three most beautiful areas in Japan as I am told. Is beautiful. Deer roam the area. There is plenty of shopping and restaurants. is a small island with traditional houses. Just beautiful
You can take a ferry from Hiroshima near peace park to island. Went with Japanese friend of my son's thought I would enjoy experience and I did. Stayed at jeikuso ryokan

The main reasson to visit was the Itsukushima Shrine but there was plenty of other shrines and temples to visit. The ropeway to Mt, Misen was great. The hike down not so much (not a trail, mainly steps - hard on the knees.
