There is something so grounded and peaceful about this homestay in little town Mitsu. The owner cooked great breakfast and carefully attend my need. Moreover, the sea smell, the small coffee shop in the alley and the friendly people makes it hard to leave this place. If you really want a healing, go here.

The owner is an artist in his soul and has created an environment that envelopes you in a the essence of Japan. There are two Japanese gardens complete with Koi fish you are invited to feed. There is a large living area besides the large bedroom that is yours to enjoy. The property is in the a quiet neighborhood with local restaurants within 3 or 4 blocks. Across the street is a manga library that you can explore. It’s all so gentle and accessible. I highly recommend you find this to answer your question as to what is Japan without the hype! Enjoy!!

The old house was built in the early 1900s, by a rich merchant and it has probably not changed since then except electricity/modern bathroom and the addition thousands of poetry books. You fell you are travelling back in time, giving you a taste of an old Japanese house atmosphere and a glimpse of the personality of the people who lived there. It such a valuable experience to stay in an old house. The second floor room is exclusively for you to enjoy, with toilets, sink... The room is very spacious and relaxing. The garden and interior are lovely. The amenities are much more modern than the house! The area is also such a lovely surprise, an old quiet harbour being kept alive through small tea/coffees/restaurants. Arrive early during the day, and enjoy the walking tour on the map given by your hosts. It is a mix of old and new houses for inhabitants looking for authenticity, quiet & peace. Most of all you want to support the immense work done by the hosts Maiko and Yoshi, who put their heart and sweat in keeping this beautiful typical house to its wonderful glory. Maiko speaks some English so it is easier for the communication.

Hotel Aisul Matsuyama se nachází jen 3 minuty chůze od nádraží JR Matsuyama a 10 minut jízdy tramvají od hradu Matsuyama. Hotel je vzdálen 15 minut jízdy od letiště Matsuyama. Stayed in the hotel as part of a solo walking henro trip. Everything was good with this hotel stay- room ws fine, clean and comfortable. Location near the Matsyama JR station was convinient. As with other hotels had to wait till the checkin time so was able to leave my backpack and walk around the area. When I returned they have already moved my backpack to the room (nice).
