Royal Hotel Odate is located in Odate, 31 miles from Hirosaki Castle. Free WiFi is available and private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. The location was close to the train station and the Akita dog museum. I only stayed overnight so I missed the chance to see Akita dogs, which I was looking forward to. We arrived late but the warm reception with a complimentary ramen, which is only availble from 7-9 pm, was a delight. The hotel is old but well maintained. The toilet and bath was newly renovated and very clean. The bed was comfortable and conducive to a good night sleep.
