Hotels near Ratmalana Airport - RML, Colombo

Piliyandala is the main little town the area. However, most properties in the vicinity are lake fronted (or close to it). The lake is called Bolgoda lake. From a tranquil holiday to a romantic getaway or if you want to soak in adventurous water sports, there are many places that will cater to your need. Since Bolgoda is close to Colombo, it is like a tranquil getaway from the city, but within a 45 minute drive form the capital.

Getting food delivered at the hotel was easy thru uber eats & pick me apps. leading supermarket was at a walking distance. no laundry at the hotel and nearby, so had to arrange pick up and drop at higher cost than doing the laundry itself.

City has almost everything you need. If you want shopping you can go "Kandy" in dehiwala town. National zoo is nearby. Pizza hut mc Donald's, dominos pizza, KFC are there.traffic is bit annoying though. If you planning to get a tuk tuk download app "pickme" and order a tuk. Local drivers sometimes overcharge.

If you are a beach lover and need to be closer to the city, Mount Lavinia is best as it has one of the best beaches in Colombo. There are many amenities for tourists. Hotels , shops and restaurants and fast food places like Burger king, Pizza hut, Mc Donakds and KFC..Mount Lavinia Hotel with its history and location has great sea views with its own private beach. Delivers a 5 star service. The hotel has a variety of dinning oprions including a buffet with local and international cuisine. Well known for its sea food dishes and run by a famous local celebrity chef. Beach reatarants are scattered along the beach, a few mins walk along the beach and there are many bars and pĺaces to eat. Shore by O or Sea Breeze restaurant are couple of many. In Dehiwala a short Tuk ride away , you will find good beach restaurants like "The Station " and "Barracuda". Mount Lavinia Railway station is also a few mins away from the main road which has direct links to major cities and tourist attractions like Anuradhapura, Galle and down south towns. Kandy,Ella and other destinations can be accessed via a change at Fort main station. Trains to Anuradhapura and Jaffna starts from Mount Lavinia.The city of Colombo is easily accessed via the train to avoid traffic and congestion at peak times. Mount Lavinia has a Golden sandy beach with hired sun loungers and deck chairs. Have to cross the railway line to access Beach and no flat surface for buggies or wheelchairs. Please be aware when crossing the railway line as trains can approach fast. Please also be aware of sea currents and follow life guard's advice. Mount Lavinia has a lifeguard on duty. Best sunsets can be seen from Mount Lavinia.

I booked a Standard Double room in Clock Inn. The bathroom was clean. Hot water facility in bathroom and spring bed, locker in room were very comfortable. Acceptable good breakfast. Common fridge and shared kitchen were very useful. Reception staffs are very nice people and willing to help you in everything. Right side with a short walk you can find more restaurants. I definitely recommend the hotel for your enjoyable budget stay. Need to fix a cloth dryer and wall hanger should very useful. I observed some dust in bathroom corners, inside closest and table drawers so minute cleaning is very important on that places but if you want to clean them you can ask the staffs for make up your room but I didn't ask because it wasn't needed to me and the small thing doesn't affect your enjoyable stay much.

It is a lovely and famous, coastal area in the capital. However, beach-front properties are often fully booked and are expensive. The area is quite safe for anyone. The beach is beautiful, but locals don't recommend dipping in the sea here as it is considered too polluted.
