It felt safe and the pool was nice. The house was clean. The owner organized water to be delivered for our stay. The pizza shop across the road is great and it's close to a supermarket.

The spaciousness of the house and the comfortable seating...
The spaciousness of the house and the comfortable seating were probably the two best things about the place. The house is approximately 20 minute drive into town so you definitely need a car as busses are very infrequent to this area. There are really no attractions or interesting places to see in El Centenario. There are a few nice local restaurants within walking distance of the house.
The reason we booked this house which was not a convenient location was because it was advertised as “steps to the beach” however, it is not a beach you can swim at let alone really enjoy walking along. There is a thick, wide amount of sludge, seaweed and bird poop that created a horrible smell and it was definitely not a swimming beach. We felt we were mislead by the description. Photos of the beach are below.
We were also advised one week before arriving that if we used up the water then we would have to pay to have it refilled. We were 3 adults staying for 10 days so we were very stressed out about conserving water, even boiling our water for dishes because to wait for the tap water to heat up would waste a lot of water.
The house is designed to accommodate 4 people however there are only 2 outdoor seats and a tiny little table so having a meal outside was not an option.
Driving onto the property posed a challenge every time as there was a 2” piece of rebar sticking out of the concrete so we had to be sure to avoid puncturing a tire each time we entered and exited the property.
I would not recommend this property

La paz is a wonderful place if you're looking for a quiet...
La paz is a wonderful place if you're looking for a quiet vacation (with the exception of carnival week). The Sea of Cortez is lovely and calm and warm, although the beach along the malecon are not really condusive for swimming due to pollution. There are a few lovely beaches close by though. We had a rental car. Traffic however, is a nightmare! local laws are merely suggestions, but if a gringo doesn't stop at a stop sign, you're definately going to meet the local police!! We went through a flashing yellow light, and the police lights lit up right away! They had been beside us so knew they hit the jackpot! A reminder to make sure you have a copy of your drivers licence and passport with you and to NOT give your original one to them, or they will not give it back until they get their "lunch money" . If it hadn't been for the fact that we had a plane to catch, we would have taken the "officer" to task and insisted on going to the police station! And sadly, these older officers have young recruits with them who they are teaching how to bribe gringos!! It's really time Mexico dealt with this corruption of their "police force". It's truly shameful! Another tip...don't drive at night either because most motorcycles don't have proper lighting and there are lots of them. We were driving behind two guys, each taking up a lane for themselves. One had lights on his bike, the other had a flashlight taped to his handle bars!! Lots of speeding and infractions which seem oblivious to local police. Other than that, we will be back at another time.

Nice Mexican town.
Nice Mexican town. Enough tourists to have a tourist infrastructure but not overrun - at least not in November. Only place in Baja to snorkel with whale sharks, snorkeling with sea lions was also great.
MUCH cheaper than Los Cabos area.

Very friendly people. Everyone is very helpful.
Very friendly people. Everyone is very helpful. Playa Coromuel was fantastic. Beat small restaurants were in Esterito area. La Posada is a very well kept secret @ the south end of town. The new construction in the hills on the north end of town is fine, but the infrastructure is very poor - roads r in poor condition; trash EVERYWHERE; sewer lines broken running down the streets. Infrastructure needs much more work to match the condos and homes in the hills. It is VERY IMPORTANT to pay attention when driving. Most streets in downtown are one way & stop signs r a guideline, so u have to pay attention and keep going if there are no cars on the cross streets or you will disturb the flow of traffic.
