It was a no-tell motel, with a shower built for display, lots of mirrors, and a guide to the Kama Sutra on the wall. Eww. It was in a downtrodden area. Booking.com said it was close to the airport, but only if you're a crow. There is no direct, short driving route to the airport.

I loved the concierge service they provided. The staff was wonderful and helpful. I felt safe and secure as hotel access was very controlled.. It is very accessible from the airport.

The owner stays here so she is available for whatever time you arrive. She was extremely accommodating and very nice even though we got there at like 2am. She can call a taxi for the airport and she was very quick in responding. Would definitely stay here again.

Spotless room, walking distance to the airport, but on a quiet street in a charming neighborhood. It was just what we were looking for on the night before our departure from OAX. Micki helped us arrange a 5:30am taxi the next morning. So nice.

Very good location if coming from the south, before the Oaxaca traffic and close to airport. Room was very spacious and modern. Bed was comfortable and shower was warm. AC worked great. Space is shared with an Italian restaurant which was very convenient for dinner. Restaurant played music but we asked if it could be turned down at 9 so we could sleep and they did, which was very respectful and we slept very soundly. Quiet area in general.

The room was big, well-stocked and very clean. It is also close to the airport. Perla, the host, is one of the kindest and most amazing hosts I have encountered. When she realized I was travelling solo, she invited me to join her for a fiesta. She drove me to Centro, where we had an amazing time. She also took me to the airport at 4 AM. She truly made my stay unforgettable and memorable.

We stayed at a the Huayapam Yuu Lodge on the edge of the village, exceptional. An extraodinary setting with mountain views, gracious and helpful hosts, a real sense of tradition and authenticity, wonderful food, plants, hummingbirds -- it was a restful retreat and jumping off place for many fantastic day trips in the region, and just a taxi ride away to Oaxaca city. In future we'd like to explore the eco-park near town and eat at the XHEN Cocina de Humo Contemporánea restaurant, as well as take more time to explore the town and maybe catch the Easter procession (we heard plenty of practice fireworks and music in the distance). The Lodge was amazing!

The cultural aspects, including all the artisans and murals, and the food were the best part of the City. We ate out every night for two weeks and had no bad meals and several excellent ones. And they weren’t all Oaxacan food, although El Catedral, La Olla and Quince Letras, where we had excellent molé, all were. On Hidalgo there is a tiny Japanese restaurant that was great and there is also a very good Mediterranean restaurant with homemade pasta. We walked everywhere because Cómala and the house we rented were all walking distance to the main area of the city. When we took taxis, they were inexpensive (80 pesos).

It was quiet and there were many sitting areas on the grounds / pool area. I could easily walk around the village without having to rent a taxi though they certainly would have called me for one. The room was beautiful. I was there for a week while taking Spanish classes in the nearby school.
