The location of this homestay is the best part about it. It's a 2 minute walk from the park entrance while still giving you the feel of being outside of the park. They kept power on the whole time so we could still charge things throughout the day and keep the fans on all night. At nights the rooms cooled down and were comfortable. The bathrooms were shared but we were the only people here so it felt private.

The host Helena and Shania was supportive. The room had 3 single beds. Initially I thought it would be a dormitory type of stay. But they have multiple rooms. It is a budget homestay. They prepare dinner and lunch is you ask for. Prices are at par with Mulu park restaurant.

Basic but you will stay at the park a lot of the time you are in Mulu anyway. Anil is a great host and was super helpful. Also he will bring you to the park entrance and picks you up from there as you like. The view from the restaurant to the river is outstanding.

The rooms do not have AC but the nights cool off and the fan was more than enough for us and I tend to run very warm. The location was perfect for us, it's a 30 minute walk to the park (or a quick ride) but it was exceptionally quiet and peaceful. We ended up spending a morning reading on the covered porch because it was pouring rain. It was idyllic.
