Loc-Appart SPM is more of a guesthouse or (very upscale) hostel than a private apartment rental. Each ensuite bedroom is private and has a private mini-frig, but the kitchen and lounge are shared. The first two nights we stayed, there was one other couple there and we enjoyed their company at breakfast. We were the only guests when we returned later for a third night. The kitchen was very clean, extremely well stocked (with condiments and spices as well as tableware and cooking utensils), and the appliances were new and upscale. The excellent espresso machine was a treat. Gerard, the manager, took us down to the waterfront to introduce us to Les Zigotos- our interactions with them were the highlight of our visit to SPM He spoke very little English and we speak very little French, but gestures and Google translate did the trick. The location is uphill from restaurants and the harbour, but closer than some of the other inns and very walkable. I'd recommend getting a taxi when arriving from the ferry or airport, but otherwise, none is needed.
