ChinaThe room is small, but at least the bathroom is large, which is rare in AZORES. The room is super clean which made me feel comfortable. The location is good. But the best thing is the host is super nice. I also have a trip offered by the host, and the trip is wonderful. I recommend you to stay here and book the trip:)

GermanyIt’s clean and the space is larger than I expected. The instructions are clear. The location is near airport and just 2-3 mins drive. The hosts are really kind, helpful and they respond actively. I lost my jacket in the house and the host took it to the airport and gave it back to me.

United StatesPerfect spot to set up for a relaxing vacation on Flores. You're close to everything. Want to go swimming? Just cross the street and there's the old port that has a very nice swimming area. Hungry? Nice restaurants all within walking distance (make reservations if you want the freshest fish on the island at O Moreao Restaurant!!!)
Just want a burger? In less than five minutes you can be at Luciano's.
Unit was clean and had two nice bedrooms with lots of space. Washing machine with clothesline outside was super convenient. Has a mini split AC that we only used for a little while since there always seemed to be a beautiful breeze coming in.
I highly recommend and will be using again!

Beautifully decorated, amazing views, TV that is more like a theater, comfortable beds, great liens and towels, fabulous shower and fully stocked kitchen for cooking! The people were very welcoming.
The people were very welcoming. This is probably the prettiest place we have been. This is a great island for hiking and enjoying nature. Meal options are limited but good, hearty food. If we had it to do over again we would probably go in the Spring when the flowers were in bloom.

Takes some driving from Santa Cruz, but all driving in Flores is scenic, so this is not a bad thing.
The hike down to the beach at the very nearby trailhead of Faja de Lopo Vaz is not to be missed. The trail is quite steep but has breathtaking views. We went just before dusk and the sunset views were enthralling! The sun rays shining from behind the large vertical rock wall down at the beach, when viewed from the trail, and those Kahili Ginger flowers with the ocean and sunset skies as a backdrop - words fail me!
Do visit the Casa do Rei restaurant a few miles up the road, book in advance, very kind people and delicious food, great atmosphere, we went there twice in 4 days!

I liked that it was near the famous sites and in a quiet area. It is an old house so I found it very cold and it also had a musky smell. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of blankets to stay warm. The shower was plenty hot and there were long soft towels to dry off. I had problems with the lock box not working easily. I was disappointed that there were no stores or a bakery as it’s a very small village. Buy what you need in Santa Cruz. The island is gorgeous and this side has so many waterfalls to enjoy.

This is a little town, set in a truly beautiful place. There are a few restaurants available, but groceries are very limited. You really should have a car to visit. I've been to Flores island 3 times and I think Faja Grande is the best place to stay on the island. If you like Nature and hiking, Flores is really wonderful--just be aware that flights can be cancelled or delayed, groceries are limited on the island and there is often fog in some of the nicest places. On a nice day, it is hard to beat the spectacular scenery and good hikes or drives and there are some good restaurants as well.

From the waterfalls in the west, to the lovely walkable city...
From the waterfalls in the west, to the lovely walkable city of Santa Cruz in the east, Flores is a delight. Get your hiking boots ready as there are many beautiful trails to check out on this island, but plan on a few days as the weather can be unpredictable and it would be a pity not to see Flores in full sunshine.

The village is small and on Sundays there’s only two restaurants open (low season). Weather is unpredictable and not so warm (18°C). Our host Ricardo recommends coming here in September when it’s still warm and the sea is about 25°C. We saw a lot of trekkers everywhere. On Flores you definitely would need a car. Close to the village iate a couple of stunning waterfalls.

A magical village with kind helpful people.
A magical village with kind helpful people. The village is like something out of a fairytale, perfect scenery, with beautiful well kept livestock, has such a nostalgic feel. The food was incredibly fresh and tasty, we also stayed in Sao Miguel (5 star hotel) but the food here was of a way better standard! Be carful when driving at night, ensure you have an offline map as signal is weak down some winding country lanes- we got quite lost and roads are very steep.

It is really a paradise.
It is really a paradise. On one hand I want to share my joy from getting to see it, on the other it needs to stay pure and forgotten by the masses. When flying there, our plane had to turn back because of a technical issue, as if I was asked if I really mean it. If you love and respect nature, go for it!

Absolutely stunning island.
Absolutely stunning island. The natural beauty left me in awe many times. I hope this natural landscape is protected. The whale museum was very educational and worth the visit. Although I think they should charge more than one Euro for entrance. It was easy to get around with our small rental car.
