This is the most beautiful place that we have ever seen.
This is the most beautiful place that we have ever seen. It has so many natural beauty and places to explore. I would strongly suggest that if you want to explore on your own and love driving and walking/hiking, please book rental car with airport from before and visit mid September to mid-October to avoid many tourists and still have great weather. Ensure you stay around Hotel Sao Miguel Park since it is very accessible and you can walk everywhere in 8 to 10 minutes to enjoy great city vibes and food. Please research well on google to find great places to explore on your own. One good website is Azores Trails. Lastly, do not rush to do multiple islands together. Take at least 7 days to enjoy Sao Miguel since there is a lot to do in every corner.

my favorite thing was definitely the beautiful surrounding scenery well that and the mud but most people dont like that lol, i thought the owner jose was a very nice man friendly and helpful and treated his guests like on of the family, i would fully recommend staying there any time of the year

Great place to start.
Great place to start. short ride from airport. Great shops! Eat at Esquina Steakhouse! Best beef ever!! Short trip out to the Gin library! Great place to hang! Walked up the bell tower. A little scary but worth it!! And its free!!! You can park your car and pay for parking and actually add extra time so you dont have to get up in the morning!!!! only in the Azores!

Weather can be unpredictable. Good roads for driving, but tricky narrow mountain roads. Very green and scenic island, good to explore with a rental car. City center sidewalks are narrow, would be difficult for people with reduced mobility.

Chaotic at times, vibrant and good fun. Cruise ships swell tourist numbers for a short while and play havoc with getting a lunch table. Walking is enjoyable, never feeling unsafe - even late at night. Do visit all the tourist spots, they are actually worth going to see! and enjoy the worlds best pineapple.

Just to see Ponta Delgada, 2-3 days is enough.
Just to see Ponta Delgada, 2-3 days is enough. It is within an hour to most places on the island. Christmastime is a great time to be there. Not too hot, not too cold and less busy than in the high season.

After finding out it was our wedding he went above and beyond by allowing us all over the hotel for photography, special items in our room, and just made us feel like special people throughout our stay.
