Happy to chat with me and give me helpful tips and advice, offered me a lift into the town and to/from the airport, even went to the trouble to try to help me with finding transport options for later in my trip. I would definitely stay here again.

Our 6 day stay was met with constant support from the hosts, which gave us that peace of mind when needing assistance with anything. They even offered to drive us to the closest ATM, the Telekom outlet to buy a SIM, and even to the market on our first day in Honiara. If you’re thinking of hiring a car, no problem! They have a RAV4 that they hire out to their guests for $500 (Solomon $$) per day, which is a reasonable price, considering bond/insurance fees you normally pay from car rental outlets. We would definitely recommend staying at Lonely Hill Apartments. We would definitely go back and stay there. Great value for money, although a 10min drive from the town centre, it’s still a great location, being that it’s closest to the International Airport. 10\10 for sure!

I thoroughly enjoyed the novelty of this place. The rooms are terraced along a steep hillside, and serviced by a cable car. I stayed on the top level (4th). Ride the car up, and then walk back down the meandering paths, surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens. Great views of the town and ocean from private balcony. The rooms themselves are simple and budget - but overall the setting and location is perfect.
