There are two parts to my review, the host Karim and his apartment. Karim is the most responsive and helpful host I have ever stayed with. I would often get responses back in minutes. I changed my arrival time at the last minute from 6 pm to 11:30 pm and his immediate response was “no problem.” I asked him for the address and directions to his apartment and it was still not possible to know which door was his. I found him outside at 11:30 pm waving to hail us. Karim helped us carry our bags up three flights of stairs and helped carry them down the next morning.
Part 2 is the space. There is a large 6 foot - I think - deep soaking pool that would easily hold 10 people. The water isn’t heated but would be refreshing in summer. The open air balcony is refreshing and the view provides a perspective of sky and near by roof tops and balconies. The proper beds are very comfortable and the two sofas are best for people under 150 cm.
Inside is simple and practical but it is Karim’s kindness that makes a guest feel like they cannot ask for too much.

We had a great stay despite booking on very short notice.
We had a great stay despite booking on very short notice. Mr. Zouari was extremely proactive and even offered to pick us up from the airport.
When we arrived, he was already waiting with welcome drinks and sweets, which was a very nice touch. After a short, pleasant conversation, he kindly let us rest, knowing we were continuing our journey early the next morning.
The next day, he surprised us with an amazing breakfast — truly outstanding hospitality. This stay perfectly reflects the warmth and generosity of Tunisian guest hospitality.
Excellent experience overall. I would definitely book again. Thank you, Mr. Zouari.

I think three days were just right for the stay.
I think three days were just right for the stay. One day around Sidi Bou Said area, one day in the Tunis medina and one day in Bardo museum and archeological sites. I missed Bardo museum because it is closed on the Mondays. Taxi drivers try to rip off tourists as normal. Negotiate 50% or less of the asking price.

Nice area.
Nice area. A lot of the shops and stuff are relatively spread out. Really nice people who genuinely help you. Taxis are a bit of a pain from the airport, as they were a little expensive to what I would have thought. However you have to bargain with them a bit.

I was met at the airport quite late at night with the plane being more than 2 hours late.
The host couldn’t do enough for me, big breakfast, all my laundry and ras me back to the airport.
I would certainly recommend him.

Avenue Habib Bourguiba is an interesting stroll down the pedestrian centre to the clock tower.
Bardo Museum is well worth visiting. As are Carthage and Sidi Bou Said outside of Tunis.

Ariana is a lovely area about 20 minutes from Tunis. It was safe. Plenty of stores, restaurants, bars, bakeries, ice cream shops. However, people need to stop throwing trash all over the place. Too many smokers as well. People smoked inside restaurants, offices, everywhere which was a turn-off
