Location on the river and close to Clayton were ideal for our purposes. New/renovated property clean and in pristine condition. The owner responded quickly to an issue with the door lock when we could not access the property.

The location of this property is magical. The view from the living room and kitchen extremely peaceful and serene. Extremely relaxing. The host included lots of little extra touches. They made our stay wonderful.

This was our first trip to the 1,000 Islands.
This was our first trip to the 1,000 Islands. There is no comparison between Alexandria Bay and Clayton. After the disastrous start, refusing to stay in our Alexandria Bay hotel, we stayed in Clayton. That is a beautiful town and we enjoyed our stay there.

Basing ourselves here allowed us to get to nice walking /...
Basing ourselves here allowed us to get to nice walking / hiking trails in the area in less than 30 minutes. We walked at Rock Dunder Trails and Landon Bay Trails. Gananoque had a number of restaurant offerings but found mostly pub food.

I've been to Clayton many times and like the way it has...
I've been to Clayton many times and like the way it has changed over the years. There are several different shops to browse through and several different types of restaurants. One of my favorite things is the pier at the end of town where you can sit and watch the ships go by. Make sure to get a boat ride from Clayton Island Tours. They offer different types of boat tours. One of my favorites is to the Rock Island Lighthouse.

The scenery was spectacular; the boat trip just the right length and the tour guide informative. Boldt Castle and its surroundings are beautiful. A very pretty town, which seems largely unspoiled. As a visitor from England, I only wish I could visit more often!

Clayton is amazing!
Clayton is amazing! We only wished that more of the restaurants and coffee shops would’ve been open during the morning hours. Many of them did not open until 4 PM. It did not give us many options for lunch. I was really sad to see that the Christmas store closed! :-(. I will be back to Clayton next year, though! Having dinner at Diprizios’s was the highlight of our eating out! Delicious!

Spectacular views of the St.
Spectacular views of the St. Lawrence River and the harbor at Alexandria Bay. Very good selection of restaurants with a wide variety of menus.
Bolt Castle should be on everyone's itinerary as it is a fabulous place to visit. The restoration that has been completed is amazing in its attention to detail.

Clayton is a nice, clean little village with plenty to do.
Clayton is a nice, clean little village with plenty to do. Bella's has the best breakfast ! We ate lunch at the Shipwrek right on the river. If you are a cheese lover, River Rat Cheese is the place to go. Getting around Clayton was very easy and parking was not a problem.
