The convenience simply can't be overstated, and if you have a crack-of-dawn flight it's worth the higher price compared to the hotels down on rte 75. You can just walk out of the hotel and go down the corridor to the ticketing and TSA lines. The rooms are clean, the showers have both overhead and hand nozzles, which is great, and the beds and pillows are super comfortable. The breakfast is very nice when your plane schedule allows to you actually be at the hotel late enough to have it, and it's very nice to have the Starbucks there.

This place is a hidden gem. Don't judge this book by its cover (or strange reviews). The staff was extremely friendly, and the stay was comfortable and safe. The area and outside are just dated in a dystopian movie set kind of way. The hotel is more than adequate for the price.

Positives:
The breakfast was good; ALL staff were HELPFUL and PLEASANT.
Negatives:
There were "long black hairs" in the tub and on bathroom floor open arrival.
I requested extra towels, so the maids didn't need to come into my room. That didn't happen. The next morning, when leaving to get Wi-Fi, I saw two chambermaids in the hallway and asked for the extra towels I had requested. They didn't have them on their carts, so I had to go to the front desk to get them.
I am a traveling businesswoman. The Wi-Fi didn't work with the password I was given. I immediately called and went to the Front Desk to correct, but they couldn't help until midnight when the next shift arrived. I had to use my Mobile Hotspot and went to a local restaurant, so I could work.
I was looking forward to relaxing in the hot tub after working all day, but the note on the door said that the "heater for the hot tub is down until Monday".
The staff and amenities were reasons I decided to stay over an hour from my business meetings.
Overall, it was a very EXPENSIVE and DISAPPOINTING business trip :(
I don't think I will go back!!!

Our primary purpose for visiting was to bicycle on the Farmington River Heritage Trail. The trail is tranquil and well maintained. While we were there we ate at La Figata and The Barn. Both were excellent. On a non riding day we visited Gillette Castle in East Haddam. It was closed for the season but we were able to explore the grounds. There were some interesting antique and seasonal shopping but we didn't have time to see them.

We were promised rooms that would separate and my husband and I got there for my sons 13th birthday and were told oh well there is nothing we can do there grease and dirt on the floor we were itchy in the bed. No pool open which was not told to us no gym nothing for the kids to do. Horrible

We arrived at 11:45pm after a 2 hour flight and 30 minute drive. The front desk manager took 25 minutes to check us in. And, was rude to the max. I asked why it took 30 minutes to check us in and he told me not to exaggerate - it only took 25 minutes. ugh...Then we learned that we would not be staying in the 1820 house for $339 a night, and rather we would be staying in the modern annex. This was a room Bait and switch and nowhere noted in the reservation details. Breakfast we learned was a slimmed down continental breakfast with toast, and apples and oranges. We went to the Marriott instead. Saved a $100 on the room. Got exactly the room expected and enjoyed a full and free breakfast.

Enfield property is easy on/off Rt. 91. Large well-lit parking lot. A steakhouse is steps away. The malls are within walking distance. However, there are few sidewalks, crosswalks, or walk signals at the intersections. Could be unsafe for pedestrians as there aren't many, yet the neighbourhoods are safe.

The staff is nice. The pool area could use some love, think cloudy with a chance of floaters (hair, eww). The room was nice but we had to ask for bedding for the fold out, even though I booked for an extra person. Not a problem with the bedding but the fold out had crumbs and trash on the sheet folded up in it. I decided not to make a fuss and let that go. Overall, decent hotel with ok amenities. FYI, Vending machine/ gift store prices are stupid expensive, find a convenience store.

The absolute worst!
The absolute worst! Dirty, smelled like stale cigarettes, even witnessed a guy come out of his room and light a cigarette. Stains all over the carpets, black mold in the bathroom, even had mold in our fridge in the room. Will say the front desk women was super friendly and helpful she brought us a new fridge herself! As maintenance was unavailable.
