KDH is a great place to visit in the off-season.
KDH is a great place to visit in the off-season. I love it in springtime because I am a surf fisherman and always have fun and successful experiences here. There aren't a ton of restaurant choices like there is in places like Myrtle Beach, but the locally owned restaurants and grills/diners are my favorite places to eat because they serve up some delicious seafood and desserts. Miller's Seafood and Steaks, Dune Street Rawbar and Grill, and the Surfin' Spoon are places I highly recommend.

The Elizabethan Gardens during the Christmas timeframe were amazing to walk through! The aquarium on Roanoke was also pretty cool with a picturesque view of the sunset on the dock out back was the perfect ending for our trip. Will definitely be back!

I always enjoy Nags Head.
I always enjoy Nags Head. The beach is beautiful and pretty clean. There's plenty to do in the area and I wish I could live there. My dog and I enjoyed the Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo. I always treat myself to a dinner from Whalebone Seafood Market. Fish Heads is always an enjoyable place to go.

They don't care about providing you with a motel room. They just want your money. If they can take your money in an advance reservation, and not have to give you a room, they will. Awful business policies. Stay somewhere else!

Hwy 158 through town is business loaded for the faster crowd, but Virginia Dare is a great alternative for the slower. Because we vacation on a budget, we visit Spanky's Grille a few times for good food at a good price with friendly people.

Having a room facing the ocean was a special treat! Watching the waves roll in every day was magical for we midwesterners! The hotel is close to so many fun and historic restaurants. We enjoyed the nearby RunDownCafe, and Black Pelican. It was super easy to get to the Wright Brothers monument, memorial, and museum, which was our goal.

Lots of local places to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Samanomes, Dunes, Milligans, Jolly Roger’s. The restaurants were friendly and great service. The Obx Rod & Custom festival was there when we went, was really cool, and seeing all the classic cars was awesome. Beach where we stayed at dolphin inn was beautiful.

It wasn't noisy like most hotels. The room was fairly cleaned. The mattress was pretty broke down. There was a kiosk with a person to check in and no one reachable for the towels and wash cloths that should have already been in the room until the next morning. With all that said I have to say it was still a good value.

We really enjoyed eating at the Blue Moon restaurant. Great place to hang out, play games, drink, eat. Lovely restaurant. We also enjoyed Jenette's pier. We made an afternoon of going to the Alligator Wildlife Refuge and saw 9 bear while driving around. You have to go slow and look. We went off season so many of the lighthouses were closed for the season. The beach is clean. Lots of intact shells of many sizes. We were able to watch dolphin from our balcony.

The house was very noisy when outside in the pool area since they are building a house right next door. The hammering, drilling, and excavation work gave me a headache. The other side of the house they are sanding the decks and refinishing them and extremely loud also.
