Very stylish, contemporary inside rooms/areas yet nostalgic, appealing facade. Immaculately clean room. Firm yet comfortable beds. Soft linens. Well-stocked for short stay. Impressed with full kitchen (glass top range, microwave, full/small fridge, sink, and mini stainless steel fridge) DELICIOUS full breakfast and the pearl sugar Belgian waffles were — insanely good. Great service from Jessica at front desk. Really appreciate the full ramp into the property. Elevators work great. Small but lively indoor pool.

Hwy 158 through town is business loaded for the faster crowd...

Hwy 158 through town is business loaded for the faster crowd, but Virginia Dare is a great alternative for the slower. Because we vacation on a budget, we visit Spanky's Grille a few times for good food at a good price with friendly people.

We really enjoyed eating at the Blue Moon restaurant.

We really enjoyed eating at the Blue Moon restaurant. Great place to hang out, play games, drink, eat. Lovely restaurant. We also enjoyed Jenette's pier. We made an afternoon of going to the Alligator Wildlife Refuge and saw 9 bear while driving around. You have to go slow and look. We went off season so many of the lighthouses were closed for the season. The beach is clean. Lots of intact shells of many sizes. We were able to watch dolphin from our balcony.

This is a wonderful place to stay.

This is a wonderful place to stay. The people are very nice and make you always feel welcome. We love going to Miller's Restaurant just up the road from where we stay. We can't say enough about this place.

Kill Devils Hills is very nice but we went in the "off...

Kill Devils Hills is very nice but we went in the "off season" A lot of places were just opening for the season. Not many excursion types of things to do due to the off season but it was quiet. People here, like everywhere else, drive way too crazy but the main road with all the grocery stores, restaurants etc. has a secondary more quiet road. There are so many rentals throughout the area so I can only imagine what traffic will be during the in season. Duck, NC is a really pretty somewhat quieter area. Outer Banks Brewing had a great menu, good food and very well priced. The people in the restaurants, stores etc were all very friendly.

You'll enjoy being right at the Wright Brothers Memorial, a...

You'll enjoy being right at the Wright Brothers Memorial, a just few miles from Jockey's Ridge, locals gather atop the dunes for watching the sunsets and all enjoy seeing kites flying which are available right across the street at Kitty Hawk Kites...and we like the different putt putt golf courses, team challenge. Creative dishes from some of the best chefs in fun restaurants, from casual to evening dining...a pallet treat. You have to go to Goombays on the beach road to eat and to Surfin Spoon for your own custom made sundaes. Wonderful local shops with handcrafted arts. ...and all this pales to the clean sandy beaches just steps from your door. Watch a beautiful ocean sunrise, surfers, and bring your fishing pole. (umbrella or tent on hot days...and cool beverages) Tons of public access parking, many with showers for leaving the sand at the beach and not in your car. 100% family friendly, but cool enough for fun. 😉

beautiful location but we visited during stormy weather so...

beautiful location but we visited during stormy weather so not ideal for walking on the beach. Also the Wright Bros memorial was closed due to government closures. However, this meant we discovered Manteo - the lost English colony which was a delight to walk around. We also went to some fantastic restaurants - Mama Kwans, Jolly Roger and Shipwrecks. All served great food and had wonderful differing ambience.
