Hotels near Hot Springs Memorial Field Airport - HOT, Hot Springs

I have stopped in Hot Springs on my travels between Kentucky and Texas many times. It is a gem of a little break, a mini-vacation. It is a National Park with great hiking in a lovely setting. It is also the home of natural springs, and numerous bathhouses offer treatment and spa services at reasonable prices. Stopping for a self-care vacation is an excellent way to unwind and rejuvenate. This time, I decided to try one of the spas located outside the downtown area and was extremely pleased. I visited Chrysalis Spa, 4332 Central Ave., a short drive from downtown, and they did not disappoint. Both the facial and massage were excellent. I highly recommend their services!

It’s a nice little getaway. Not too far away. If you want to relax and enjoy the downtown atmosphere, hiking, offroading at Hotsprings Offroad park and enjoy the restaurants on Hamilton lake. Restaurants, fisherman’s wharfs , Buba brews , back porch grill and The Pancake shop for your breakfast.

A great variety of activities for both old and young alike. We spent most of our time on bathhouse row taking mineral baths & getting massages, but also stayed in a cabin on the lake, visited the gardens and the casino and enjoyed eating at Grateful Head Pizza, Superior Bathhouse Brewery, and Brick House Grill. All a 10/10.

Hot Springs National Park is a great place to visit from the bath houses to the visitor center to the hiking trails. For those into mountain biking, North Woods trail system is a 15 minute bike ride to the trail head from downtown Hot Springs with some really fun single track (check out the loop Pullman to Pumphouse to Rock Hound to Freeman, a great cross-country loop with some fast flowing single track with a bit of tech). The city has so much history. The only downside is that it feels like the great Hot Springs town is past its prime. The ranger at the National Park told us that the number of visitors have increased 10X since the pandemic so hoping that means reinvestment into the area.

The bath houses were still accommodating, but the waits were long. Hot Springs has changed a lot since I was there last time. The auction houses are no longer upscale and they are scarce. The shops are mostly boutiques run by immature, entitled kids. No real food places that were up to par. It is still a historically interesting place.

Hot springs is a peculiar place. The thermal waters at the bath houses is s unique experience. It is an old town with people that loves it and represent it with their services. The park is a quiet place full of peace and nature.
