The Inn was very welcoming. Beautiful greenery with flowering plants and tiger swallowtails. We came to celebrate our anniversary and stayed in the Thomas Jefferson room. It was clean and quite comfortable. A different yummy breakfast served every morning. And wonderful conversations with the other guests, who are incredibly friendly and will let you in on the best sights and things to do in Williamsburg. A fabulous stay!

One of my Favorite Historical Towns and an Incredible Living Museum! You should plan on spending 2-3 days at CW and another 2-3 days to also see Jamestown and Yorktown to complete the historic Triangle!

There are several things to enjoy in and around Surry.
There are several things to enjoy in and around Surry. We visited a winery, a cupcake shop, and a deli. We also kayaked on the creek while visiting. But there were also other historical places to visit that we didn't get to.

Renter beware this place is dump. First they loss my prepaid reservation. The Clerk at the front was rude. When I finally got a room the security lench on the door was missing. When I informed the front desk clerk he told me "most of the rooms are like that". He moved to another room where the carpet was coming up and roaches crawling up the wall. I viewed this turned in key left this property completely. I never stayed the full night. Next Monday filed a complaint with BBB. And codes of compliance with the city of newport news.

She will not give a late checkout not even 30 minutes which the majority of hotels/motels will accommodate to! Horrible experience. I have pictures of bathroom and being basically a housekeeping supervisor rooms were not

There's a lot to see and do there. We didn't have too much planned this trip. We just wanted some r&r! One morning we did have brunch at Golden Corral. The food was excellent and our server Alicia was off the chain! After brunch, we took a drive down Route 60.

There is much very nice about the room: it has a nice view...
There is much very nice about the room: it has a nice view over a marina; the room is very spacious and comfortable -- it is actually a suite with a separate bedroom, and has a nice iving area (with what appears to be a sleeper couch); it is very clean and well-maintained; it has a kitchen wth fridge, dishes, coffee maker, table and chairs, etc.; the price was reasonable. All those are plusses that could make this room very attractive for a family. On the other hand, it has some features that were negative for us: the biggest is that the bedroom (which is separate from the rest of the suite) has no window, and therefore no sunlight or view; there is no elevator; you have to carry your luggage up an outside stairway; the seafood restaurant downstairs is so-so and not open for breakfast; if you have a problem with the room, you are supposed to call reception at another location (we did and got put in interminable hold), or go to the restaurant manager; and there is nothing to do within walking distance other than look at the marina. So all-in-all, my wife and I (seniors) would not go back, but a young family might find the property overalll attractive.

If you like the historical colonial setting, Yorktown is...
If you like the historical colonial setting, Yorktown is desirable and educational. Many of the old buildings are there to be toured and background information is present. But, If you just want a beach experience, as we did, Yorktown Beach is rather disappointing. Not enough places to eat or park. No other real attractions.
We did find excellent seafood dinners at Chippers close to the hotel. Yorktown itself is easy to navigate and there were grocery stores, pharmacies, and other services and shops close to the hotel.

We have been visiting Williamsburg since 1982.
We have been visiting Williamsburg since 1982. Many changes over that time..Some good, Some not so much but all in all still a Wonderful place to spend Christmas. Very walkable; from Merchants Square to the Courthouse the Duke of Gloucester Street transports you back to Colonial time. Be sure to stop by The Raleigh Tavern Bake Shop, the Ginger Cookies and Hot Cider are a must. Make dinner reservations early if you want to enjoy one of the Colonial Taverns; Kings Arms offers a great selection of Colonial Fare. If your family includes children stop by the Lodge to see the Gingerbread House display and bring along your ice skates, the new Skating Rink is open til February 28th. Enjoy

I loved it all!
I loved it all!👍🏻 I enjoyed everything from the room to all the wonderful food. If was a very friendly family like atmosphere. Enjoyed being able to easily go from room to all the shops and restaurants in walking distance. Nice safe environment. We will definitely come back soon.
