Located 15 minutes’ walk from Maui Arts and Cultural Center, Maui Seaside Hotel is 8 km from Kihei Beach. An outdoor pool and restaurant are located on site. Free WiFi is included in all guest rooms. Outstanding service, friendly staff, hotel is nearby the sea, lovely rooms, quiet but on the other hand also near shops & the town center. Also a pro: After checking-out and exploring Kona for the rest of the day, we got later on an extra room for taking a shower and get ready for our long journey back home. Thank you - appreciate that very much!
Offering an airport shuttle to Kahului Airport, just 3 miles away, Maui Beach Hotel features an outdoor pool and onsite restaurant. Kanaha Beach Park is 2 miles away. Location because close to the airport

This lodge is located on Hawaii’s North Shore, in the hustle and bustle of Paia Town. It offers free WiFi access in all rooms and a courtyard with a waterfall and a tiki-themed lounge area. La localización y el ambiente del sitio es genial, justo en el pueblo de Paia al lado de playas llenas de tortugas y bueno punto para empezar el Road to Hana.

Featuring a salt water swimming pool, this Wailuku (Maui, Hawaii) guesthouse provides free WiFi and free parking. Kanaha Beach Park is 10 minutes’ drive away. Owner meet and greet with personalized letter and baked bread. Pool was clean and salt water not chlorinated. Nice grill and chill space in the backyard and by the pool, chance to talk to and meet other guests and the owner, who also had pets and parrot, shade and fruit trees and overall nice pad in the heart of Wailuku. Would definitely stay again and recommend.
Set 5 km from Iao Valley State Park, Central Maui Hostel features accommodation with free WiFi in Wailuku. This hostel is brand new, so everything is fresh and super clean. We had the private double room with our own bathroom, that was just perfect for us. Comfortable beds and great hot shower. But what makes this hostel great, is Joe, the manager. He is the most helpful and friendly guy you’ll meet on the island. He went out of his way to help us with several things, I don’t know how we can thank him enough. Absolutely recommended to stay here.
I wouldn't stay in Kahului if you can avoid it. It is good for shopping, Costco, Walmart, Kmart, etc, but that's really about it. If you have a rented car (which you should), you should stay in any of the other semi near by towns and drive in when you need things. South Kehei, Maalaea, Lahaina, are all great places, and you have to go to one of them if you want to go to the beach anyway.
It's Maui! Wonderful place to vacation. It is an island so prices are higher than the Mainland;everything is shipped in.There are Farmers Markets and roadside stands to enjoy too. There is a lot to see and do or not. Nothing wrong with taking it easy and just enjoying the sunshine too.Bring sunscreen, even on a cloudy day you can get a burn.
We had only 2 full days on Maui, where we stayed in Kahului. One day we walked everywhere nearby (Queen Ka'ahumana Mall, Maui Arts Centre, Kahalui Harbour). The second day we took a bus trip to Haleakala volcano, Wailuka Town, Iao Valley Park and Needle and Lahaina. This is a beautiful island and we realized how much more we had no time to see and do. A local bus would have taken us to many interesting sites.
Friendly and accommodating staff at the Courtyard, overall cleanliness of the whole hotel, comfortable rooms, pool area with open fire, infrastructure (eg. Free use of the Business Centre, WiFi, laundry)
We only stayed two nights so that we could do the Road to Hana tour, a definite must for everyone that visits Maui, the scenery is just amazing. Sadly in Kahului we couldn't see the magnificent mountains nearby due to the Vog, but that is nature and we can't do much about that, I would love to come back and tour more of the island.
When the vending machine ran out of water, I asked them where I could get water they said they dont know, yet there is a garage and mall across the road as well as seaside hotel next door. I didn't find the staff very friendly
