We love Kihei because it feels like a normal town, and...
We love Kihei because it feels like a normal town, and doesn't feel overwhelmed by tourists and hotels like Kaanapali does. It's very close to Wailea which has some nice beaches and snorkeling.

Kihei is an excellent place to visit. lots to do and plenty of beaches available to watch sunsets and swim in the ocean. close to eateries and within walking distance to coffee shop, important for my husband and the local grocery. I was not worried walking around at any time.

I love Kihei! I've stayed and been there 20 times.
I love Kihei! I've stayed and been there 20 times. Everything you need. My son didn't want me to ride the city bus but I loved riding it. Brand new buses with really cold air. You download the app and you can go all over the island.

Kihei is an amazing centralized location for Maui...
Kihei is an amazing centralized location for Maui exploration. We found the southernmost beaches near Makena State Park to be the best by far. The beach at the doorstep of Kihei is great but clarity is a problem! Not very walkable so be prepared to drive anywhere you'd like to go.

It would be so unfair to review Kehei, due to the massive storm damage experienced on the island. Every single place we visited, shopping, dining, were so friendly, willing to talk, and especially share the history of the area. It is beautiful, of course. It's part of Maui, and the Hawaiian Islands overall.

Kihei is a mostly residential town with some resorts mainly on the north side. We loved the food trucks (two permanent locations). The food trucks were the perfect level of fine dining we were looking for. If you want something classier, try the resort towns on the west side. It was also great having several grocery stores a mile or so away from our condo.
Kihei is sort of centrally located on the island, so most destinations are a reasonable drive.

Gorgeous beachfront location, amazing sunset, comfy bed, nice living space, well stocked kitchen. Lots of beach towels available for use. Turtles sleeping on the beach at night. Very clean.

The location was good, close to the entry of Kihei. Central location of Maui. Nice view from the balcony. Roof top bbq and access is pleasant. The laundry in the suite is nice.
