I knew from the reviews that this hotel is good, but boy is it good. There was plenty of clean and secure parking, the room was spacious with all the amenities you might need.
The breakfast was also great and much much better that your average cheaper USA hotel.
What blew my mind was how cheap the hotel is and how much they provide for the price.

I loved how close the Talbot house was to downtown and the bus station which we used to travel from southern Maine. The heated floors in the bathroom were heavenly.

The cottage was private considering it was right on the main road. Very convenient to everything in the area. Beautiful sunrises and the evening deck was pleasant with the ocean views. Very light and airy with all the windows. Very comfortable furnishings. We’d definitely rent it again!

Loved visiting town and near by Owls Head lighthouse. Ada's restaurant was yummy!
I drove around and checked out the quaint houses and shops.
I took a 4 day schooner sail with a group of 22 fellow Girl Campers .
I will explore more before I head back to the airport in Portland.
All the local people I talked to were so friendly and willing to answer all my "tourist" questions :).

The view of Penobscot Bay was sublime at any time of day. We went into Rockland for part of a day, but found ourselves more willing to stay at the property because it was so comfortable there.
It is easy to find the property by plotting coordinates in a sat-nav, since the unpaved road it is on is not mapped in Google Maps. The unpaved road is part of its seclusion.

We picked the location because it was central to other areas we visited. We drove through Thomaston often, but didn't spend much time exploring the town. Seemed like a quaint little village. Some restaurants we would have liked to check out weren't open - maybe too early in the season (June 1-8) or lack of staff (a problem everywhere)

A quaint little village with access to both Owls Head and Marshalls Point lighthouses - and Port Clyde, which had a ferry to Monhegan Island. There are a few restaurants and stores - and it's only 12 minutes to rt. 1.

Rockland is a beautiful little town, The Rock Harbor Pub and Brewery is a good place to stop for some great food.
My visit was mainly for The Maine Lighthouse Museum which i was not disappointed in, i spent over 3 hours in there, so if you are as interested in Lighthouses and their histories like i am then it is the Lighthouse version of Disneyland.
I will return to Rockland as i unfortunately missed out on visiting The Matinicus Rock Light.
It also has many restaurants.

Tenants Harbor is a small, quaint. little village on the Atlantic coast of Maine. We shopped in the Port Clyde General Store and ate at the Dip-Net restaurant and got coffee and other things in the Drift Net. A nice place to visit, but watch out for the various hotels in the village - they are very old and very expensive without many of the amenities you would expect at their price point, i.e. no elevators to third floor rooms, no air conditioning for the warm afternoons and evenings, and some rooms don't even have cross ventilation.

Rockland area was great - lots to do but best to go before oct 1st as lots of shops and attractions and restaurants are closed for the season or open for reduced hours after that - if you go for a long weekend after that choose late week rather than early as many shops and restaurants close on Monday and Tuesday.
Many downtown streets are 1-way including Main St and most side streets - get your bearings during daylight hours and pick up a town map in the lobby of your hotel

Tenants Harbor is beautiful!
Tenants Harbor is beautiful! We did travel during Columbus Day weekend, so many places were shutting down or were closed. We traveled about 30 minutes for dinner. The up-side of traveling during this period is that it is definitely less crowded and you can find privacy in many hiking spots along the coast. The weather was amazing during the week, so a great time to go!
