I arrived 1 day late because of travel mishaps that accumulated to a full day's delay of me arriving there. Of course I told the host that I'll pay for the first night too even though I did not actually use the property. She offered me to stay an extra day for free (which I couldn't take advantage of because of plans) but the thought was so nice! Also, instead of me taking a taxi to Auray (the train to Plouharnel only runs in the summer), she offered to drive me there when it was time for me to leave. Amazing helpfulness that went far beyond what would have been enough for a good review.
