Unfortunately, our experience started with a major inconvenience. We did not actually stay at the property we had booked because our reservation had been accidentally cancelled. Instead, we were moved to a hotel. We were given two separate rooms, which was a thoughtful gesture, but the standard of the hotel was noticeably lower than the accommodation we had originally booked. We were also offered transportation between the two properties, but when we arrived at the hotel, we were unexpectedly asked to pay for it. Since the transfer was arranged to solve an issue caused by the cancelled reservation, we did not agree to these additional charges. After checking in, we ordered pizza at the hotel's restaurant. Although the restaurant was almost empty, we had to wait for more than an hour without being informed in advance that the wait would be so long. The hotel itself feels quite outdated and in need of renovation. The handheld shower in my room did not work. I noticed that another guest had mentioned the same issue in a previous review, so it seems that it has not been fixed. The rooms could also have been cleaner - I even found a small cockroach in my bed. Finally, if you come to breakfast closer to 9:00 a.m., many of the dishes have already run out, and the remaining food is dry from sitting out for too long. I appreciate that the staff tried to accommodate us after the reservation issue, but overall the experience was disappointing. Better maintenance, cleanliness, communication, and organization would make a significant difference.
