The Best of Wildlife tour starts with pickup at your accommodation and a drive through the rural surrounds of Canberra to the Deep Space Tracking Station at Tidbinbilla. Here you’ll learn about the significant role the station’s telescopes played in the Apollo missions and the first moon landing, as well as how they contribute to current deep space tracking. From the tracking station you’ll head into Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve to look for some of Australia’s most iconic wildlife in their natural habitat. As you move through the reserve you may see kangaroos and wallabies, koalas clinging to trees, the elusive platypus, colourful parrots and other birds, and emus. Sightings cannot be guaranteed, but the timing and locations used on this tour aim to give you the best chance of getting close to these animals. After your time in the reserve you’ll return to your accommodation.
