After a stroll through the village park, Kurpark, you’ll arrive at Seepromenade (the seaside promenade) where you can marvel at the widest beach in Germany.

This shore excursion combines our classic All-in-One Best of Berlin trip with a brief visit to the largest concentration camp near Berlin: Sachsenhausen.  We will pick you up directly at your cruise ship docking in Warnemünde or Rostock, and bring you to Berlin in a modern, air-conditioned vehicle. In Berlin you will meet your professional tour guide who will show you the highlights of the city and then take you to the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial for a brief visit. Please be aware, the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial is roughly a one hour drive from Berlin, so there is more time spent on the bus on this tour than our regular Berlin shore excursion. All of our experiences are adjusted to each ship’s docking times and start promptly after your vessel’s arrival, returning with plenty of time to spare before departure. On this private guided walking tour, you'll have the opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of Rostock – a major German port city on the banks of the Baltic Sea. As you make your way through town, your guide will share fascinating insights about the landmarks you see along the way. Tour highlights include the historic Town Hall, Seagulls' Fountain and St. Mary's Church with its astronomical clock. You'll also pause to take in the city's old fortifications and 15th-century university.

The tour begins at the marina in Warnemuende with a meeting with a guide with whom you will reach the train station and take the train to Rostock. Upon arrival, you will take the train to Schwerin, where you will have an acquaintance with the city (about 1 hour), visit Schwerin Castle (with a guide and yourself - about 2 hours) and lunch at a local cafe (included - about 1 hour). From Schwerin you will take a train to Rostock, where you will get a city tour and visit St. Mary's Church. And there will also be one free hour for walking and shopping. At the end of the tour, you will return by train back to Warnemuende.

From Warnemünde you take the train/tram to Rostock and you will see the Kröpeliner Straße and the Kröpeliner Tor, the New Market Square, the Rostock City Wall and gates, the Town hall, St. Marien Church, the University, etc. Then return to Warnemünde.

This shore excursion thoughtfully combines our classic All-in-One Best of Berlin experience with a visit to Sachsenhausen, the largest concentration camp near Berlin. You’ll be met right at your cruise ship in Warnemünde or Rostock and travel first to the Sachsenhausen Memorial for a guided introduction to the site. Afterwards, your guide will accompany you to Berlin, where you’ll explore the city’s most important landmarks. Since Sachsenhausen lies on the route from the port to Berlin, visiting it first minimizes extra driving. Please note, however, that this itinerary involves slightly more time on the bus than our standard Berlin shore excursion. Every tour is carefully scheduled to match your ship’s docking times, beginning promptly after arrival and returning well before departure.
