This guided tour in the village of Aye will give you the opportunity to discover the UNESCO-listed wine region of Champagne. You’ll visit an old Pommery grape pressing center for insights into champagne making. You’ll learn about grape harvest and pressing along with the climate and geology suitable for the growth of vines. You’ll have the chance to taste two champagnes or grape juices as well.

Journey back in time on a guided tour of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Reims, a monument of French Gothic art and architecture where many of the kings of France were crowned. Upon arrival, admire the breathtaking façade of the cathedral, which dates to the middle ages, before heading inside to discover the church's many secrets. Inside, admire fine tapestries and stained glassed windows from the 13th to 20th centuries. Be welcomed at 4:00pm in Mareuil-sur-Ay at a typical Champagne House in the middle of Champagne vineyards (Le Clos Corbier). During the visit to the cellars dug in the 1850’s, you will start with the discovery of a traditional press and learn all about the secrets of the champagne making process. Take a seat and enjoy your tasting class with a champagne quiz then train your nose to identify the different aromas and flavors that can be found in Champagne through an olfactory workshop. Get competitive as you blindly identify 3 different Champagnes from the family including one Grand Cru Vintage. You will enjoy some local sweet treats and finger food paired with your champagnes ! Your class will teach you how to identify the different noses and palates of fine Champagne, and your newfound skills will be put to the test with a blind tasting, accompanied by local delicacies. After your class, you’ll sit down to a hearty, traditional French lunch consisting of regional specialties paired with various Champagnes.

On this afternoon tour of the Champagne region, you’ll have the opportunity to learn all about the history and the winemaking process of the famous French sparkling wine. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you’ll start your experience with a visit to a family-run boutique winery, where you’ll get to see the press and vat room used to process the grapes according to the traditional method. You’ll then be invited to taste some of the local produce. After a scenic drive through the expanse of vineyards, you'll reach Hautvillers. Here you’ll have time to explore the village, including the abbey with the final resting place of the famous monk, Dom Pérignon. To round off your tour, you’ll head to a second winery and sample Cuvée varieties paired with regional delicacies.
