Set among the quiet woods of Baguio in Santo Tomas Proper, this Hayahay Ritual offers a calm, small-group setting for exploring a Filipino animist practice. A cultural practitioner, trained by a Babaylan mentor, will lead the session. You will begin with a herbal cleansing smoke ritual and be introduced to the philosophy of the Usbong energy field.
As the ritual continues, you will take part in chanting, breathwork, guided visualisation and coconut oil body anointing. The activities are designed to focus on the seven soul vessels and to encourage self-honouring and a sense of interconnectedness. Along the way, the facilitator will explain the background and intention behind each element so you understand the cultural context.
Groups are kept to a maximum of six people for a more personal experience. The ritual welcomes people of all cultures and beliefs and emphasises the Filipino spirit of kapwa — shared personhood and mutual respect. You should come with genuine curiosity and respect for the tradition.
On this four-hour walking tour, you'll get an insight into the history of Baguio as you explore with a knowledgeable guide. You'll visit eight historical spots as you learn about the city. Your tour will also include a stop at Luisa's Cafe, one of Baguio's oldest restaurants, before the tour ends at scenic Burnham Park.
