In Görlitz, an eastern German town of about 50,000, you'll explore a remarkably well preserved historic centre with over 3,500 architectural monuments spanning 500 years. As you move through the streets, you'll notice medieval buildings that escaped the Second World War bombings, late 19th‑century squares and ornate Art Nouveau houses that together give the town a distinctive character.
Along the way you'll pass the Schönhof, the oldest civil Renaissance building in Germany and a former brewery, noted as one of the town’s most splendid structures.
