With this experience, you’ll have the chance to take a comprehensive tour of two of the most important museums in London, accompanied by a knowledgeable guide.
You’ll start at the British Museum, where you’ll get to see artefacts and exhibits spanning across 6,000 years, including the renowned Rosetta Stone. As you discover the museum’s extensive collections of sculptures, jewellery and decorative objects, you’ll learn about the history of the various civilisations in an entertaining way. Highlights include Egyptian artefacts such as the Mummy of Katebet, Assyrian reliefs with lion hunting scenes, the Lewis Chessmen and a series of Samurai armour.
After a break for lunch, you’ll head to The National Gallery, home to a collection of over 2,000 paintings from the 14th century onwards, including Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘The Virgin of the Rocks’ and Georges Seurat’s ‘Bathers at Asnières’. With the aid of insightful live commentary, you’ll gain a better understanding of the different artistic movements over the centuries.
