The ancient Roman city of Herculaneum is a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the slopes of Vesuvius. Smaller but no less important, buried by the eruption of Vesuvius 79 d.c. Numerous objects found during the excavations allow us to reconstruct what was the relationship of the inhabitants with the gods venerated in antiquity. Naturally a prominent place was reserved for the mythical Hercules, the hero who according to tradition had founded the city of Herculaneum.
