This day trip will begin with a departure from the ferry terminal in La Spezia. After meeting your private guide, you’ll board a ferry together and travel to the pretty village of Portovenere. There, you’ll begin a boat tour to see the islands in The Gulf of Poets. This famous bay got its name as it was an area of inspiration for artists and poets such as Mary Shelley, D. H. Lawrence and Lord Byron.
As you sail along the Ligurian coastline, you’ll see pretty UNESCO-listed islands such as Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto and will have the option to get off the boat and explore. You’ll also learn more about why artists, writers and poets from around the world have been so inspired by this area – especially poets from the English Romanticism movement. The tour will end with a return trip back to La Spezia.
