On this day trip from Osaka or Kyoto, you'll get to visit Shiga. The first stop on your journey will be the Miho Museum, inspired by the Tale of the Peach Blossom Spring and located deep in the mountains. You'll then head to the ancient district of Hachimanbori, located in Hikone City. Here, you'll have the chance to take in the ancient buildings and traditional Japanese architecture lining both sides of the canal. Next, you'll visit Kyu-Chikurin-in, a serene place known for its mirror-like reflections and photographic opportunities. From here, the tour will head to the largest freshwater lake in Japan, Lake Biwa, where you'll visit the Shirahige Shrine and its iconic torii gate.
