During this workshop, you'll get an inside look at Japanese knife techniques and the art of sushi-making. You'll begin by watching a video of a sushi chef's typical workday, then explore the rich history of this cuisine and how it’s evolved. You'll also participate in a sushi quiz to test your newfound knowledge.
Diving into sushi preparation, you'll learn how to make sushi rice, the foundation of good sushi. A master knife handler will demonstrate how to cut fish and create decorative vegetables, then you'll practise slicing sushi toppings with a sashimi knife. You'll also craft your own sushi rolls and nigiri, learn how to grate real wasabi and sample authentic sake.
