This is a good alternative to visit Machu Picchu, combining bus and train. It is accessible at any time of the year, and especially during the high tourist season, when train services cannot cope with demand.
That is why we go on the new route, on the paved road Cusco / Quillabamba, passing through the villages of the Sacred Valley, the Pass of the Mountain of Abra Málaga (4,350 masl), the highest point of the itinerary, to get off and get to Santa Teresa, following a short stretch of road, to the train station in Hydroelectric, and from there, continue by train to Machu Picchu, for only 10 kilometers.
But before that, we will have enjoyed the delights offered by the medicinal thermal baths of Cocalmayo, in a true natural paradise.
