At the Mucci family winery in Abruzzo, the family have been making wine since 1895. The estate blends tradition with attention to innovation, and the tour is led by the winemaker so you can hear the story straight from the people who run it.
The visit begins with a walk through the vineyard, along the way learning about the family history and the estates that produce the grapes. You will then move into the winery and see the Mucci company’s high‑tech wine‑making and bottling plant, observing how they combine product quality with operational efficiency. The experience finishes with a tasting of a selection of fine wines, during which you will learn how to evaluate wine using sight, smell and taste.
In a private cooking class at the Cesarina’s home, you’ll learn the secrets behind three authentic regional Italian recipes. The Cesarina will share tricks of the trade as she guides you through each dish, and you’ll have fun putting your cooking skills to the test in a relaxed, home setting.
Each participant will have a personal workstation equipped with utensils and all the ingredients needed to prepare the recipes. At the end of the lesson you’ll taste everything you’ve made, accompanied by local wine — typically a selection of red and white varieties.
You will explore the world of Abruzzo wine, with a particular focus on Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, through an interactive course led by our operator. The session will introduce you to the region and its wines, and you will learn about their beneficial properties as you move through the material.
Along the way you will be taught to recognise different grape varieties and to read wine labels, gaining practical skills to help you identify what’s in the bottle. The course will guide you step by step, making the terminology and label information easier to understand so you can feel more confident when choosing Abruzzo wines in future.
