The Alcatraz experience can feel a bit creepy but paradoxically inviting and beautiful (with unexpected gardens, fabulous views, and ocean breezes).

The award-winning audio tour is really well done. It runs like a good podcast documentary – but one you can see and feel – bringing this story-filled place alive.

You decide how fast or slow to go, as no ticketing is required to take a return ferry from the island (every 30 minutes). A tram is there to help guests with mobility issues get up and down the steep hill to the prison at the top of The Rock.

Plus, any day you want, before or after your trip to Alcatraz, you can choose when to go on the San Francisco Bay Cruise --- taking you out on beautiful San Francisco Bay and UNDER the ever-amazing, rather imposing, and truly iconic Golden Gate Bridge!

    FOR ALCATRAZ: Simply go to Pier 33 (Alcatraz Landing) at least 30 minutes before departure. Go to the Alcatraz City Cruises Will Call window. Your names will be on a list. Say your group leader's name, Amigos Tours, and the departure time. Show your voucher if asked. All guests over age 18 are required to show valid government issued photo identification. If a photo ID cannot be furnished, the tickets will not be released. Minors under age 18 are not allowed to travel alone. FOR THE BAY CRUISE UNDER THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE: Go to Blue & Gold Fleet at Pier 41 whenever you are ready. This can be before or after Alcatraz. Look for the little yellow house/booth closer to Pier 39. Show the BR# on this voucher and mention Amigos as the local operator. Reservations are not required. Multiple departures daily by season. Summer between 11:00am to 6:15 pm. Winer: 11:00 - 4:45. If you take the Bay Cruise close in time before Alcatraz, remember you need time to disembark and walk 6-10 minutes to Pier 33. Don’t squeeze the timing too much.

    Pick up your Bay Cruise between Pier 39 & Pier 41 at the yellow house ticket booth (closer to Pier 39). Confirm Amigos & show the BR# on your voucher. This can be done any day, beginning at 11:00am, with the last boat at 6:15 pm through October 13, 2024. Reservations are not required.

    20-30 minutes before departure, go to the Will Call window, state your name, confirm Amigos, show voucher. Have your Govt. Issued Photo ID ready to show. (This is REQUIRED for all persons age 18+). Pick up your tickets and get in the boarding queue.
