I liked that the kitchen was big and fully equipped. I only had coffee here. Was impressed that if I wanted to prepare more I could do so. Also, I was offered breakfast if I wanted it. Thank you, Sandra for providing excellent accommodations.

The cottage was ideally located for quiet strolls on the beach, feeling a million miles away from hustle and bustle, but also just a short journey to nearby towns for all amenities you could need. It was very clean and nicely decorated. Vera and her family were also very welcoming and lovely to speak with. They even let the boys feed a little lamb. Vera also gave us some great recommendations for food, and we would highly recommend the Lowther Arms.

First of all the good points. This a very nice stylish guest house, in a perfect location. The room was clean and facilities good. Being able to order breakfast the night before - and specify the time for it to be served - meant there was no waiting around to be served the next morning. Also the breakfast room was very bright and pleasant.

Great value for money. This is not a luxury hotel, with basic facilities, but it had everything you needed for a short stay and the staff were very friendly. It is a great setting for the coastal path and the golf course

Our host, Graeme, went above and beyond to make our stay both comfortable and memorable. He even picked us up from the neighbouring town when we found ourselves stranded there (no bus, no taxi)! This was just one of several outstanding gestures that we deeply appreciated. Our meals were delicious and prepared thoughtfully. The chef is highly regarded in town and keeps the restaurant busy. The view from our room was spectacular! Big windows face the green and the Solway firth...really lovely sunsets.

It was worth the stay just for Graeme's encyclopaedic knowledge of Silloth and it's history, as well as Solway railways. We had a most enjoyable & comfortable overnight stay with an excellent host, & great chef who provided a beautifully cooked breakfast and imaginative dinner menu which was very good value. Green View Guesthouse is also in a perfect location - central, in a historic building and even very close to the bus stop!
