Hotels That Guests Love in Mahahual
  • The location was perfect. It was right on the beach and we had a great sea view. The room was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The owners live on site and let us borrow bikes and snorkel equipment.

  • The location was great. Right on the beach and nice chairs and hammocks to relax in. The hostesses were great; very attentive. When were were on the beach they played music on the speakers for us and brought us extra towels :) We also liked the free bike rentals

  • All staff were excellent - lovely, kind, polite and calm as only Mexicans are while they take care of your every need. The premium room I had was huge and quiet, unlike hotels right on the beach. The Matan Ka'an is a short block off the beach but you don't really feel you are away from it. Compared to the other 2 hotels I saw, for a similar price Matan Ka'an is definitely a better deal.

  • A beach hut right on the beachfront for £20 a night. I stayed here for three nights and loved every minute. Bar is great too with nice food. Beach is great and staff helpful and friendly. If you like your home comforts it may not be for you but if you like to be with nature / camping it is perfect. I was meeting friends cruising into Costa Maya which is perfect for this purpose

  • The location is excellent, right on the beach and about 25 meters from the ocean. There is a reef within easy swimming distance. Perfect location for snorkeling and other beach activities. The staff are extremely polite and helpful, although speaking Spanish is a real advantage. Highly recommended.

The beach means different things to different people. What did the beach in Mahahual mean to you?

Most of the beach is white sand, with lots of palms and shade shelters though as you go north past the end of the paved walking road (the Malecon) it becomes rocky and is great for exploring in sturdy water shoes. For almost its entire length there is only beach on the water side of the Malecon and the restaurants, hotels, stores, and businesses are on the other, which makes for a pretty walk.
Very nice beach. Not too crowded in November
