I liked everything about my stay and the property. Checking-in was a breeze (didn’t ask for my passport, just the name, payed a tourist tax and was escorted to my room), checking-out is even simpler (dropped the keys into the box on the wall and walked out). I stayed probably in the largest room they had with two bedrooms and two king size beds, more space than I needed), right in the heart of Monnikendam. The walks around town, the eats in its small restaurants were nice. It makes sense to live here (half the price of the hotels in Amsterdam) and go to Amsterdam by bus and metro (€7 and 25 min. one way, including walking), free car parking. By doing this you’d be saving at least €120 a day verses living in Amsterdam and paying for overnight parking. My highest recommendation goes to this gem of a hotel in this gem of a city (Monnikendam).
