Everyone mentions the breakfast- see photo! As you can see, we sat outside overlooking the bay- all wonderful. We had a room in the main house which shares the small bathroom with one other room. The rooms take couples/ singles/ 2 people only. The room was well- appointed ( bedside lights, toiletries etc. ), beautifully furnished and very comfortable. There's a lounge you can use with fridge and games, and lots of space/ chairs to sit outside looking out at the water. Chantale suggested an evening walk ( take mozzie spray!) and we saw a baby porcupine on the path.

Built in 1870, this historical home in Saint-Siméon faces Rivière Noire and Fleuve Saint-Laurent. It offers beach access and an outdoor terrace by the water. The hosts at La Gentilhommière (family run) have been extremely friendly and helpful, answering questions prior to our arrival, making us familiar with the facilities, proposing trips and restaurants and preparing fresh dinner and breakfast upon request. The hostel offers many extras, such as a fully equipped barbecue area, seating groups at the water with open (gas) fire and various comfortable armchairs and seating groups that are arranged in a smart way to provide privacy from other guests. For dinner the offer consists of a selection of freshly made pizzas that can be ordered until 5pm and there is a menu of breakfast choices that need to be selected the prior evening together with a timing request. We stayed with a family of four (daughters 16 and 18) in a room that was spacious enough, especially because you spend most of the time outdoor anyway. The room and the bathroom was very clean and looked freshly renovated. The entire house has a very welcoming feel and the hosts have clearly spend a lot of thought on providing a comfortable and enjoyable place to stay.

Wonderful, friendly host, superb home baked breakfast with a good choice. Lovely comfortable en suite room with everything that we could need, the icing on the cake was the view.

The host was extremely kind, helpful, and available at any time of the day or night. The amenities were great and everything was very comfortable. Highly recommend!

From watching whales, to picking blueberries to hiking to the beach and walking out to the islands at low tide, we just loved our stay!
