Really comfortable and private hotel for a great price in Puerto Viejo. We loved the size and layout of the room, the patio area and the pool was a nice bonus. It was close to everything but far enough that there was no traffic noise or music from the local clubs. Filtered water and coffee offered daily was great and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Comprising a garden and a terrace, Smile Jungle Hostel is a recently renovated accommodation in Puerto Viejo set close to Cocles Beach. If you are looking for a place to party that's definitely not the right place. But if you are looking for a quiet place, where you can hear and maybe see (if you are patient) wild animals, that's definitely the place to be. The location is great, far away from the party but close enough to get some groceries or to go on the beach. But the best of all is Gonzalo, the owner of the place. KAÑIK APART HOTEL in Puerto Viejo provides adults-only accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool and a garden. Situated nearby beautiful beach, amongst forest that is full of animals such as monkeys, parrots and sloths. We didn’t even have to go to the national park to actually see them, they were above our heads. Delicious breakfast, fresh fruits, tasty coffee and vegetarian options in the menu. The hotel is located 10 km from Puerto Viejo which is good because there is the sense of omnipresent calmness and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Located within a few steps of Negra and 25 km of Jaguar Rescue Center, Casa Caribbean Coconut provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Cahuita. Breakfast was excellent. Restaurant was also excellent but not open all the time. Pool was a nice area to chill. Beach only steps away.

A recently renovated bed and breakfast situated in Tortuguero, near Tortuguero Beach, Cabinas Tortuguero Sports Fishing features free WiFi, a private beach area and a garden. Primo and his wife welcomed us perfectly, taking care of all our needs, recommending good restaurants and a tour guide. The tranquility and atmosphere around were exactly what we needed after landing in Costa Rica.
