The room was clean and cozy and the best thing of course was the balcony facing the ocean...heaven! I sat out there quite a bit, what a view, especially for sunset. A very nice gentleman runs the place and speaks excellent English. Breakfast provided but I left really early so he gave me some coffee plus some hard-boiled eggs to take with me. You can order dinner there, I got a chicken dinner for 700 CVE and it was really good and big portions. The room did not have A/C but I really didn't need it, there is a fan provided and things cool down nicely at night. Great choice and a great value...thank you!

The views from the public terrace of Sao Filipe are stunning. I stayed in the luxury room 10 two nights and it was so beautiful with a very high ceiling, a full two door window that opens to purple bougainvillea and the same gorgeous view as the terrace. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have tried in my life, firm but still soft. The workers are nice and helpful if you need any help planning a trip to the volcano, etc. The owner is generous and kind and the atmosphere among the staff is comfortable. Breakfast is a fancy version of a typical Cabo Verde breakfast: white bread, boiled eggs, guava jelly, Fogo traditional cheese, papaya, etc. The location is in the heart of Sao Filipe and walking distance to all the restaurants and the black beach.
