A fantastic place to stay, in my opinion - my room was large and offered everything needed. It was not the bland usual hotel thing but rather it was nicely decorated for a distinct experience. The location right on the lake is wonderful, with views across the water to the north, and a deck for sitting outside if one wants to, during meals or just for pleasure. Overall, this hotel gives the impression that the owners care and want guests to be comfortable, and it is still small enough to not be the usual bland thing of a large hotel, while offering all one could wish for. Downtown is within walking distance.

Set in Kemijärvi, 47 km from Suomu Mountain, Lapland Arctic Guesthouse has a private beach area, private parking and rooms with free WiFi access. We loved the location right by the lake, especially with the outdoor fire where you can cook your meals and enjoy breakfast in the morning. Everything was spotless. The host was also very kind, when we asked, he gladly washed the clothes we had from our trekking trip.
