We found a summary tour by tuk-tuk very helpful to orient us on the first day.

I've had a pleasant stay at the Barefoot, which is managed by a great squad, special thanks to Apeksha, the community organizer who is a very sweet girl. There is always something you can do either at the hostel or with their help and advice, be it join a barbecue party, visit a temple, or go for a sunset boat cruise. They have a kitchen and can prepare food too. The hostel has several good shared spaces with bean bags and mats so you can enjoy socializing with felow travellers in the evenings, or, in my case, do some work. The WiFi worked well (a few times the power went off in the entire village, but came back quickly). The location is satisfactory with a grocery store right next to it and a short walk to the beach or the cliff promenade where all the restaurants are. Also there is a Tuk Tuk stop where you can get transport to the railway station. I recommend and would go back.

Such a wonderful homestay: great location, comfortable bed, quiet and the host makes you feel really taken care of. They offer homemade food as well. Really one of the best homestays I stayed in in India. I highly recommend this place

We started our tour in India from Cochin, and could not have chosen a better place to stay than Sea Coast Inn. Shaan is super friendly and helpful host, way above the ordinary. The house is new and very clean, great location close to sights but hidden on a small side street, so it's very quiet. Beds were comfy. Good wifi. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, nice combination of south Indian breakfast items (was different every morning), fruit and some western items like toast and cereal. You can also book a boat tour or tickets to nearby kathakali show here.
