JamboHouse Lamu is set in Lamu, 300 metres from Gallery Baraka, 500 metres from Lamu Museum, and 500 metres from 18th Century Swahili House Museum. I had an absolutely wonderful stay in Lamu! The location was incredibly accessible, making it easy to explore the area. Our host was fantastic — welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help with any requests. The property was ideally situated near local amenities, so everything we needed was just a short walk away. Plus, there were so many activities to enjoy, from scenic walks around the island to boat rides and exploring the rich history of the area. It was truly a memorable experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to visit Lamu!

Situated within 500 metres of Shela Beach and 200 metres of Mnarani House in Lamu, Jua House provides accommodation with seating area. The bed and breakfast features city views and a sun terrace. Absolutely amazing place. Lots of nice pockets to sit and relax, the rooms and the whole hotel are beautiful, and Amani, who runs it, is lovely and incredibly helpful -- we were met at the airport even though we forgot to share our flight time! Could not recommend more.

Featuring a shared lounge and views of garden, Shela Bliss is a recently renovated bed and breakfast set in Lamu, 400 metres from Manda Beach. We loved the decor, the quiet situation and the breakfast served by Emmanuel who hosted perfectly. It felt like a real home, not an anonymous guest house. The beach was incredibly clean and despite the poverty very little was being hawked so it was truly peaceful. Shela is far preferable to Lamu.

Featuring garden views, Sai Shanti House provides accommodation with a garden and a balcony, around 300 metres from Manda Beach. Everything. The place is awesome and the host super kind and helpful. And I couldn't believe how fresh the apartment was when outside it was overwhelmingly hot!

Located in Shela, 500 metres from Manda Beach, Mbibo House in the Shela Dunes offers accommodation with free WiFi, a terrace or a balcony and access to a garden and an outdoor pool. Perfect quiet oasis to relax, to discover Shela village, to explore the beach with helpful and friendly staff

Featuring accommodation with a balcony, Sai Shanti House is set in Lamu. The apartment, housed in a building dating from 2002, is 200 metres from the Mnarani House. Very warm and friendly reception. Beyond expectations! We were initially doubting to book due to a false comment of bathroom privacy issue, but we took chances and had a lovely stay, bathroom/shower is separated with locking mechanism from both sides. Host is super friendly, and greets/welcomes from Jetty, and even from Airport offers pickup service, which feels like home. We broke a glass accidently and they were cool about it too. Very accommodating, always at service to take us around as historical alleys there don't show up in Maps. We will return for sure.

Featuring a terrace with garden views, a private beach area and a garden, Madakani House can be found in Lamu, close to Shela Beach and 100 metres from Mnarani House. Everything. Above all, Justin, the most attentive & helpful butler & chef.. The room was gorgeous..with everything I could ever need..a whole linen cupboard, baskets, straw fans..washing machine, iron… I have never been hosted so well…🥹

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a private pool, mountain view and a terrace, Milimani Villa-Fully airconditioned Villa is set in Shela. The house is wonderful, spacious, luxury and quiet. Bassam is a great host and the staff are excellent too. We had a great time exploring from here or just enjoying doing nothing much at all. It is a bit outside Shela, but not that far and a nice village walk.

Located a few steps from Kipungani Beach, Kizingo Beach Eco Lodge offers 4-star accommodation in Lamu and features a fitness centre, a garden and a bar. The Banda we had was Deep Sea, nestled in the sand dunes with a gorgeous sea view. The decor was so well thought through with little details making such a difference from the weaving of the plants and their water system. To the lovely toiletries, gorgeous robes and swinging day beds. We wanted for nothing.Kizingo is paradise, peaceful and the perfect place to relax, explore, swim and just be. Nikki (the owner) and Pauline, Millicent, Paul, Alan and each of the team work so hard to ensure your stay at Kizingo is exactly when you need. They tune into each of the guests needs and Ensure you have your own Kizingo experience. There were activities available for us to do each day. We particularly loved the walk and bonfire in the dunes at sunset and swimming in the mangroves. Each meal was exceptional, carefully crafted with local ingredients / Catch of the day to ensure no waste. All healthy, tasty and delicious. Kizingo (the corner) is magical. Each night we would lay and look at the stars whilst listening to the gentle waves and nature. Thank you so much team. We will be back.
