We loved the relaxed vibe and how everything is set up and decorated, it's really really beautiful and we enjoyed just sitting around on our porch immensely! the location is great as it's away from the crazy hostel stuff but not too far with tons of great local places near by. Getting to all parts of the island from Balgue was ideal as well and everywhere you turn you see one of the volcanoes since you're right in between them. If you turn right from the place you get back into the main hostel area in a few minutes (on bike) and if you turn left you find really beautiful roadways and scenery and you can get away from all the "traveler" stuff. Cafe compestre is just down the street (2 min walking) where you can get a really really good cappuccino. My boyfriend also got a haircut across the street haha. The food they made us was so so so good (our favorite if we HAD to pick was probably the burritos, and they make some of the best smoothies on the island). we were also able to get our moto bike and kayaking through the family as well, and everything was a really good price and easy. On day 4 or so we found a hole in the tire which they fixed in just a couple hours and they didn't charge us which we really appreciated. There was a power outage one evening (it happens on the island from time to time) and they set us up with a candlelit dinner and we just loved that (picture below). The family who owns this are truly wonderful people and we felt really at home, possibly too at home as we were supposed to stay 5 nights and we stayed 9 or 10 😂. I usually got up early and worked a few hours in the balcony seating area with a coffee or smoothie, so can confirm working here is also no problem. For context, I was working fully online building a webpage with large files so internet needed to be really functioning well, and it was :)

Everyone at the hotel was super nice and helpful to us, specially Carlos which we had the chance to share some time with him. The room was nice, the AC was working smoothly and almost noiseless, the shower had hot and cold water with a good amount of water and the hotel itself was feeling really peaceful, with a nice garden area with some chickens around. To us, after some days in cabins and eco houses, having nice walls and some crystal windows was what we were looking for. The lake is just at one side and you can see it while having breakfast, which by the way is pretty good. The place is close to some interest points of the island. I can only recommend the place.

I loved the location on the water, it is far from the ferry and down a bit of a bumpy road, but we had our own transport so was fine. Nice to be away from the crowds in a very peaceful place. The bungalow is simple, clean & comfortable with good a/c & wifi. A really good breakfast of your choice is included & the beer is ice cold! One of the owners, Fernando is super friendly, funny & chill. The kayak rental was great.
