Jem was the best! She took very good care of me in the short time I spent on Samal Island and encouraged me to try many activities. Had a great time snorkelling (sooo many corals and fishes!) and kayaking too. Also a great cook and gave many good recommendations for things to do at Samal Island. As someone who has never stepped foot on Philippines / Samal Island, I also appreciate the very detailed explanation that was given on how to get from Davao Airport to the resort prior to the trip.

Discovery Samal features an outdoor swimming pool, private beach area, a restaurant and bar in Samal. I enjoyed the facilities especially the beach and gym. The staff was amazing especially Gelai, the duty manager and Joy, Morning Catch's outlet manager. I know that the biggest factor in someone's experience is the customer service and Discovery Samal"s staff went above and beyond to give me and my family a wonderful time! Thank you all!

Boasting a garden and a shared lounge, La Vida Hostel Samal Island is located in Samal. This 2-star bed and breakfast has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom. Free WiFi is available. The first room they offered us was beside a freshly painted room so the smell was kinda lingering on our room. But as we requested the owner to have us transferred, they were so considerate to change us to a more comfortable one. Staff were also attentive and nice. But we were just shocked about the 10PM curfew. I also love how they have complimentary breakfaat :)

Nestled within tropical gardens, Chema's by the Sea Cottages provides charming, standalone cottages with thatched roofs and wood flooring. There is an outdoor swimming pool on site. We enjoyed the sea view porch/ balcony from our bungalow, the food, and the overall atmosphere.

Wanderlust Resort Samal is located in Del Monte and features a private beach area. The resort provides both free WiFi and free private parking. We loved being able to go into the water and snorkel right from the villa.
